PEN-ULTRA is a very pure, very properly formulated material that will lower the surface tension of the water to allow more efficient penetration in the diverse soils of the area. The action of this product is to lower the surface tension of the water and allow the water to both penetrate the “hard to wet soils” and to act as a “spreader” to promote foliar absorption of nutrients.
The results of proper application of PEN-ULTRA are:
In heavy soils such as expandable clay and adobes, the water will penetrate more readily. Fertilizer can be carried into the soils, along with the water, promoting deeper root systems. Excess salts will be carried away from the root zone as the water continues to penetrate. When used with insecticides and herbicides, the lowering of the surface tension will allow more efficient placement of the materials. Because of less run off, erosion on slopes will be decreased. PEN-ULTRA helps loosen crusted soils.
When using PEN-ULTRA with fertilizers, insecticides, or herbicides, and fungicides, test compatibility by mixing, and agitate the material at the desired concentration level in a 1 pint clear plastic bottle. If no separation is observed, the mixture is compatible and can be mixed in the spray tank. If the ingredients do not mix (form a gel, settle out, or form a creamy layer) the materials are not compatible and should not be used together. PEN-ULTRA is compatible with most materials.
SEED TREATMENT at planting time, mix 1 pint in 25 gallons of water. Soak bulbs 10 minutes before planting. When germinating seeds and bulbs, spray lightly over seeded area after planting. When treating potted plants, use one drop per cup of water and apply once a month with good drainage.
TRANSPLANT: Add PEN-ULTRA at 1 qt per 500 gallons of transplant water.
Water district percolation ponds:
Add 3 gallons PEN-ULTRA per acre foot of water. This rate can triple the percolation process. Usually this rate will last 60 days. Apply PEN-ULTRA evenly over the surface area or treat the incoming water.
PEN-ULTRA will increase the microbial base in the soil.
GENERAL AG RATES
In general PEN-ULTRA will greatly increase water penetration, flush salts away from the root zone and reduce clodding and crusting and increase the microbial base in the soil.
A general use rate for PEN-ULTRA starts with first irrigation at 1/2 gallon PEN-ULTRA per acre. This application will last through 3 irrigation’s. Apply ½ gallon PEN-ULTRA per acre with each third irrigation until harvest.
A general use rate over the growing season is a total of 1½ gallons PEN-ULTRA per acre.
On tree crops use PEN-ULTRA at the rate of 1/2 gallon per acre. This will move water approximately 8 feet vertically and 12 feet horizontally. This is generally what is observed. This will bank water for later use.
PEN-ULTRA should be applied by injecting into the irrigation water, and the rate of application should be low and applied over the entire set until 1/2 gallon has been applied per acre.
It is very important to treat all of the water during the entire irrigation set. PEN-ULTRA can be cut with water or fertilizer to create enough volume to treat the entire set.
- For use with herbicides, apply 1/2 pint per acre.
- For use with insecticides and fungicides, apply 1/2 pint per acre.
- For use with fertilizer solutions, add 1 pint per acre.
GENERAL GOLF COURSE RATE– For injection: 55 gallon per 80 acres applied over a 30 day period.
FAIRWAYS– 1 quart – 1 gallon per acre, use enough dilution for maximum coverage.
GREENS– 1 – 3 oz. per 1000 sq ft, use enough dilution for maximum coverage.
TURF– For problem spots on turf areas, apply 2 – 4 oz. of the PEN-ULTRA in 15 – 25 gallons of water to 1000 sq. Ft. in 2 separate applications, 2 to 3 days apart. Irrigate in A.M. daily with minimum run off for 5 days or until soil moisture level has been replenished. Wet turf before applying PEN-ULTRA and water in after application.
